Corvalent is a privately held corporation founded in 1993 by a group of investors in Silicon Valley, California. This group pioneered the development of true industrial motherboard production using surface mount technology. Concentrating on the industrial related industry, they became the first company to introduce this technology into the industrial embedded market. Corvalent achieved the highest design ranking in the industrial sector. Corvalent is a leading designer and manufacturer of long-life, PC-based embedded boards, motherboards and systems for embedded and industrial applications. Hardware Design Engineers

Corvalent is currently hiring highly skilled Hardware Design Engineers to lead the research and development of Intel Microprocessor technology and beyond. Experienced individuals will be responsible for managing development including hands on schematics reviews, layout interface and prototype/project management as well as participate on Intel worldwide technology's validation process of new product introductions.
Minimum of five years experience is required; applicants must show knowledge in the PC based X86 design and overall project management skills.
Orcad Capture schematics, Allegro PCB layout familiarization is a must, as well as complete product ownership from concept design to full production release. Individual shall be able to familiarize himself with Corvalent's technology and product development process within six months of employment.

Requirements:

BS/MS EE or related engineering degree or experience 5+ years of product design and development of x86 platform boards and in-depth knowledge of computer systems, including x86 architecture and systems peripherals.
Capable of using high speed oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. High initiative and flexibility to take on tough issues and commit to drive them to resolution. We would desire somebody who has some knowledge of firmware BIOS. MS-Project software proficiency is desired. If you also have experience with EDA tools for signal analysis and timing, that would be a bonus.

Field Applications Engineer

Corvalent is currently hiring skilled Field Applications Engineers with a minimum of five years experience in troubleshooting and recommending application solutions and advising customers on all product related issues. Tests and documents customer reported problems to determine cause of problem and recommends possible fix. Requires advanced knowledge of application of systems analysis techniques and procedures to determine functional specifications. Recommends modification of computer systems, design and/or specifications to rectify customer problems. Provides pre-sales and post-sales technical support for all products and makes recommendations to customers regarding appropriate products to purchase for their system. " Takes technical leadership role in assisting sales personnel in identifying solutions to customer's applications. Traveling required. Develop training programs to provide training for outside sales representatives as needed.

Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years technical or field applications experience. Highly skilled and proficient in the theoretical and practical application of PC based platforms and products, including motherboards, single board computers, and firmware. Background and/or hands-on experience with embedded design methodologies, Windows OS and real-time operating systems. Troubleshooting creative skills a must. Candidate will be responsible for the systems architecture design and product lead on the development of industrial desktops/workstations/servers and other system integration initiatives. Products include the design of x86-based computer workstations/servers, rugged hand-held devices, color flat panel-based industrial computers, and other peripherals. As the systems engineer on new products the System Engineer must insure all established product requirements are met. Candidate will be responsible for getting products into first article test and following the product through into production. Candidate will also work on new customer initiatives by developing system solutions for their specific applications. Candidate must have strong leadership skills, take ownership, and be committed to and responsible for meeting program milestones. Tasks will include interfacing with customers to fully understand their requirements/needs. Candidate will have direct contact with customer community to resolve technical issues for fielded equipment and must be able to react quickly to customer requests. The Systems Engineer must have solid communication skills, technical expertise, and work well in a team, or independently. Demonstrates excellent listening skills resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction. Must be able to listen for opportunities as well as potential technical hurdles. Must have excellent written skills in the form of presentations, emails, white papers, and technical notes. Must have good understanding and working knowledge of PC standards and protocols. Must have good trouble shooting skills and the ability to work with others in a fast paced environment.

Engineering Laboratory Technician

Engineering laboratory Technician (Cedar Park, Texas)

Primary Duties:

Under the direction of senior staff members perform technical analysis activities on Corvalent’s family of Intel-based motherboards and systems. Evaluate new products such as power supplies, hard disk drives, optical drives, keyboards and mice.  Perform form and fit analysis on Corvalent motherboards in system enclosures.
